Dr Mahawar is a UK-based bariatric surgeon, who studied in India and began his practice here. He works independently and as a consultant to City Hospitals Sutherland, NHS Trust. He is an editorial board member of the journal Obesity Surgery, and has recently written a book, The Ethical Doctor, published by Harper Collins, India. He is also one of the founders of the online biomedical journal, Webmedcentral.com, and is on the Communications Committee of the International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders.
